Boston 2026 World Expo receives $30,000 grant for youth activities

Boston 2026 World Expo received a $30,000 grant from the Turningpoint Foundation, Boston 2026 public relations chair Thomas Fortunato said in a Feb. 17 press release.
The grant will be used to support the show’s youth area and activities. “This generous grant will ensure that young visitors to Boston 2026 will have a rich and memorable introduction to stamp collecting,” Boston 2026 President Yamil Kouri said.
Philanthropist, business owner and designer Molly L. Byrne founded the family-run Turningpoint Foundation in Dallas, Texas, in 2005. The foundation contributes to preselected organizations, and its focus includes education and arts projects.
“I am honored to help facilitate the wealth of knowledge a single stamp offers,” Byrne said on behalf of the foundation’s board of trustees. “History is so valuable for our future.”
This isn’t the first donation from the Turningpoint Foundation related to philately. In 2013, the foundation donated $500,000 to the National Postal Museum to support an education space in the William H. Gross Stamp Gallery. The space is now designated as the Byrne Education Loft.
Boston 2026 World Expo will take place May 23-30 at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center. Show details and instructions to sign up for email updates can be found at www.boston2026.org and via the expo’s Facebook, X and Instagram pages.
