By Linn’s Staff
The fall 2023 British national stamp exhibition, known as Stampex, will take place Sept. 27-30 at the Business Design Centre, 52 Upper St., Islington, London, England.
Stampex is organized by the Philatelic Traders’ Society and sponsored by the London-based Spink philatelic auction firm.
Hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is £10 Wednesday and free Thursday through Saturday.
Attendees can register in advance. All attendees will receive a free show guide.
The bourse (sales area) of more than 60 dealers will offer stamps and covers from around the world.
The 2023 court of honor is called Hidden Treasures and allows attendees the chance to view beautiful philatelic material up close.
A series of talks will be held during the show, covering topics such as how to bid at auction, how to set up or boost a stamp society, and how to further a stamp collection. The full schedule will be announced at the end of August.
Societies may host meetings every day throughout the show, and book a table to promote their society and publications.
Stampex also will include a youth area where children can participate in games and treasure hunts.
Members of the Philatelic Traders’ Society will run a “Stamps in the Attic” program to help provide attendees with valuations of found or inherited stamp collections.
