Canada Post issued four new stamps in its multiyear From Far and Wide series Jan. 13 to match postal rate increases taking effect the same day.

The series, titled with words from the Canadian national anthem, began with a set of nine stamps (Scott 3056a-3056i) issued Jan. 15, 2018. Canada Post last issued stamps in the series May 6, 2024 (3423-3445), as reported on page 1 of the May 27, 2024, issue of Linn’s.

The new stamps pay the individual domestic rate and the United States, oversized and international rates. They feature updated denominations with the same stamp designs as the 2024 issue.

The stamps are available in booklets of six (except for the individual domestic-rate stamp), coils of 50, and strips of four and 10.

On Jan. 13, the price of a domestic stamp increased by 25¢, from 99¢ to $1.24. Canada Post charges a different price for domestic-rate stamps if they are purchased individually; as of Jan. 13, that rate increased from $1.15 to $1.44.

The $1.44 stamp for the new single-purchase rate shows the same image of the Point Prim Lighthouse in Belfast, Prince Edward Island, as the $1.15 stamp issued in 2024.

The $1.75 stamp pays the new rate for letters to the United States, an increase from $1.40, and features the Thousand Islands National Park in the province of Ontario.

The $2.61 stamp for the oversized mail rate, up from $2.09, illustrates a bend in the Restigouche River in New Brunswick.

The final stamp of the set satisfies the $3.65 international rate, an increase from $2.92, and features a wintry scene at the Qarlinngua sea arch in Arctic Bay in the territory of Nunavut.

As with previous sets in this series, the stamps were designed by Stephane Huot. The stamps have microprinting that names the location shown.

The ordering numbers for the booklets are 111252 ($1.75 stamps), 111253 ($2.61) and 111254 ($3.65); strips of four are 401425118 ($1.44), 401422118 ($1.75), 401423118 ($2.61) and 401424118 ($3.65); strips of 10 are 401425119 ($1.44), 401422119 ($1.75), 401423119 ($2.61) and 401424119 ($3.65). The remaining order numbers are for coils of 50: 401425117 ($1.44), 401422117 ($1.75), 401423117 ($2.61) and 401424117 ($3.65).

The new From Far and Wide stamps and related items are available at the Canada Post website, by mail order from Canada Post Customer Service, Box 90022, 2701 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, ON K1V 1J8 Canada; or by telephone from the United States or Canada at 800-565-4362, and from other countries at 902-863-6550.
