Lego and Deutsche Post unveil new stamp for International Day of Play

By Jay Bigalke
In a delightful fusion of play and philately, Lego and Deutsche Post AG collaborated on a June 5 release of a stamp featuring various Lego minifigures.
This €0.95 commemorative stamp celebrates the International Day of Play observed annually on June 11.
The International Day of Play was established in 2024 by the U.N., following advocacy from the Lego Group and other partners. The day emphasizes every child’s right to play, as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
“We are committed to championing children’s rights — not only through engaging play experiences but also through initiatives like this stamp,” said Julia Goldhammer, general manager and vice president Europe Central at the Lego Group. “Just as letters connect people, play connects families and friends, both thriving on creativity.”
