Polar salon judges named for Boston 2026 World Expo

By Linn’s Staff
On June 20 Boston 2026 World Expo public relations chair Thomas Fortunato announced the four polar philately experts to judge the show’s polar salon competitive exhibits.
The four judges are Hal Vogel and Alan Warren of the United States, and Alain Israel and Serge Kahn of France.
This polar salon will feature up to 250 frames of competitive exhibits related to polar philately. Entrants have the option to be judged by an International Federation of Philately (FIP) panel.
Prospective exhibitors can apply on the Boston 2026 website. The application deadline is Sept. 30.
Polar philately focuses on stamps, covers and associated documents related to the exploration of the polar Arctic and Antarctic regions. Members from polar philately societies around the world are expected to participate in the polar salon.
The polar salon will be supported in part by a donation from Jiri Kraus, a polar philatelist from the Czech Republic.
Boston 2026 World Expo will take place May 23-30, 2026, at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center. Show details and instructions to sign up for email updates can be found on the Boston 2026 website and via the expo’s Facebook, X and Instagram pages.
