United Nations Postal Administration announces 2026 stamp program

The United Nations Postal Administration revealed its 2026 stamp program in its bulletin for collectors, Fascination (issue No. 148).
The subjects include endangered species, national costumes, and the International Day of Forests.
The program will begin Jan. 12 with a pane of 10 stamps marking 80 Years of the Journal of the United Nations, a daily publication of the United Nations that lists the schedule of meetings, events and activities. The $1.70 stamps are for use at the post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City.
On Jan. 16 the UNPA will celebrate the Year of the Horse with a pane of 10 $1.70 stamps for use at the post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City. The stamps will be issued at the Sarasota National Stamp Exhibition taking place Jan. 16-18 at the Sahib Shrine Event Center at 600 N. Beneva Road in Sarasota, Fla.
The 2026 program continues Feb. 15 with six stamps commemorating United Nations Art Collections: 78¢ and $1.70 for use from the post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City; 1 franc and 1.90fr for the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland; and €1 and €1.90 for the Vienna International Center in Vienna, Austria. The stamps will be in six panes of 10 stamps each.
The International Day of Forests will be commemorated March 20 with $1.70, 1.70fr and €1.40 stamps in panes of 10. The International Day of Forests was established in 2021 and is observed annually on March 21. The UNPA previously commemorated the International Year of Forests in 2011 with six stamps (Scott New York 1035-1036, Geneva 544-545, Vienna 505-506).
On April 24 the UNPA will continue the long-running Endangered Species series with stamps issued at the Westpex show taking place April 24-26 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront Hotel, 1800 Old Bayshore Highway, in Burlingame, Calif.
The Endangered Species set will be in three panes of 16 with four designs per pane. Included are $1.70 stamps for use from the post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City, 1.90fr stamps for the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, and €1.50 stamps the Vienna International Center in Vienna, Austria.
Three UNPA stamp issues are scheduled to debut during the May 23-30 Boston 2026 World Expo at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center, 415 Summer St., in Boston, Mass.
May 23 will see National Costumes commemorated on six panes of four stamps denominated 78¢ and $1.70 for use from the post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City; 1.20fr and 1.90fr for the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland; and €1.20 and €1.90 for the Vienna International Center in Vienna, Austria.
Panes of 10 stamps to be issued May 25 and 26 have the subjects of America 250 and UNPA New York 75th Anniversary, respectively. Both panes have stamps denominated $1.70 for use at the post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City.
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2026 as the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development, and on Aug. 14 the UNPA will mark the occasion with stamps issued in three panes of 10. The stamps are denominated 78¢ for use from the post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City; 1.20fr for the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland; and €1.20 for the Vienna International Center in Vienna, Austria.
The UNPA will continue its UNESCO World Heritage series Sept. 4 with 78¢, $1.70, 1.20fr, 1.90fr, €1, and €1.20 stamps in six panes of 20, as well as related prestige booklets with text and illustrations in addition to stamps.
An Oct. 23 issue has the subject of Celebrations. The issue includes $1.70, 1.20fr and €1.20 stamps in panes of 10.
The 80th anniversary of UNICEF, the agency responsible for protecting the rights and well-being of children worldwide, will be commemorated Nov. 6 with six panes of 10 stamps each.
The stamps will be denominated 78¢ and $1.70 for use from the post office at U.N. headquarters in New York City; 1.20fr and 1.90fr for the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland; and €1.20 and €1.40 for the Vienna International Center in Vienna, Austria.
The UNPA will issue a pane of three stamps denominated $1.70, 2.50fr and €1.90 on Dec. 2 to commemorate the United Nations Water Conference in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the United Nations, this conference will take place from Dec. 2-4 and will focus on goals such as enhancing global water governance and prioritizing water-related issues internationally.
