Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation announces July anniversary event

By Linn’s Staff
The Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation will celebrate its 50th anniversary July 19 with an event hosted in conjunction with the Royal Philatelic Society London.
The event, dubbed “A Day of Philately,” will take place at the Campbell House Museum located at 160 Queen St. W., in Toronto, Ontario, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance.
The day will begin with a lecture by Alexander Haimann titled “Exploring the Contours of Context Philately,” followed by displays from Canadian members of the Royal Philatelic Society London.
After a cocktail hour, David Beech will present “Philatelic Libraries: The Final Frontier” as the 10th Harry Sutherland Philatelic Lecture.
According to information on the Greene Foundation website, the Harry Sutherland Philatelic Lecture “seeks to bring world-class philatelists and their extraordinary collections to Canadian audiences, allowing collectors to hear from these experts and view exhibits on themes that are rarely available in Canada.”
The Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation was established in 1975 with funding from Vincent Graves Greene, prominent Canadian philatelic researcher, author, exhibitor and signatory to the Roll of Distinguished Philatelists.
The foundation encourages and promotes research in philately and postal history by providing expertization services, maintaining the Harry Sutherland Philatelic Library in Toronto, publishing research, and supporting educational programs and participation in exhibitions.
Questions about the July 19 event can be sent via email to marketing@greenefoundation.ca. More information on the Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation can be found online.
