2025 APS, APRL election results announced

By Linn’s Staff
On June 18, the American Philatelic Society announced the results of the elections for the APS board of directors and the American Philatelic Research Library board of trustees. Ballots were sent electronically and mailed to APS members in May and June.
Ten of the 11 APS board seats were up for election in 2025. There was significant turnover in board members for the 2025 election, with several current board members opting to leave or facing term limits. APS board members are elected to a three-year term, beginning in August 2025.
Mark Banchik, who currently serves as chairman of the APS board of vice presidents, was elected president for his first term.
Greg Galletti, Dwayne Littauer and Ron Klimley were elected as a single slate for the board of vice presidents.
Ed Kroft was elected to his first term as APS secretary, replacing Peter P. McCann, who is term limited.
Larry Haber will join the APS board as treasurer. Haber has been a member of the APS finance committee since 2022.
Steve McGill, Michael Cortese, Bruce Wasserman and David Klauber were elected as directors-at-large.
Cheryl Ganz, the current APS president, will serve as past president. She replaces Bob Zeigler, who assumed the position in 2023 after stepping down as APS president.
The past president is the only nonelected position on the APS board.
In 2025, two APRL trustees were elected by the APS membership-at-large; one member was elected to represent the Founders, Patrons, Vooys Fellows; and one will be appointed by the APS president. The incoming trustees will serve a six-year term beginning in August 2025.
Jean Wang was elected to a full term on the APRL board of trustees. Wang joined the APRL board in 2023, replacing Greg Galletti, who joined the APS board.
Matthew Healey was elected to the APRL board, replacing outgoing APRL president Melanie Rogers. Rogers was elected to the board in 2019 and served a full six-year term.
Michael Bloom was elected as the Founders, Patrons, Vooys Fellow representative to the APRL board. He replaces outgoing vice president Tom Bieniosek, who completed his six-year term that began in 2019. Bloom served as a director-at-large on the APS board from 2016 to 2022.
Newly elected APS and APRL board members will take the oath of office following the annual APS membership meeting on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, during the Great American Stamp Show in Schaumburg, Ill.
In 2025, 2,982 APS members cast ballots for the election, a 14 percent participation rate. By comparison, 3,846 APS members (15 percent) voted in 2022, and 1,986 members (7 percent) voted in 2019.
The APS is the nation’s largest organization serving stamp collectors. Additional information and a membership application are available on the APS website.
