In early May, the American Stamp Dealers Association mailed ballots to eligible members for its 2024 board of directors election.

Included with the ballot are statements from each candidate.

Eric Jackson is running unopposed for vice president, the office he currently holds.

“The stamp hobby and business are in a constant state of change and will be quite different within the next decade,” Jackson said. “The ASDA must be nimble and capable of change to meet the needs of stamp dealers and collectors now and in the future.”

Robert Prager currently serves as secretary of the ASDA and is running unopposed for that position.

“As the industry changes over the years, we need to adapt,” Prager said. “I am running … to assist in keeping this wonderful hobby thriving for both dealers and collectors.”

Ed Davidson, Jerry Derr II, Rita Dumaine and John Leszak are running for three open director positions.

Davidson has been a member of the ASDA since 2001. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve on the ASDA Board of Directors,” Davidson said.

Derr is new to stamp dealing but has been a collector since 1966.

“I want to work with the Board in helping the hobby and our profession to move forward and grow,” Derr said.

Dumaine, who first joined the ASDA board of directors in 2022, has been an active and enthusiastic supporter of the hobby for many years.

“It has been an exciting time for the ASDA, as all board members work hard to contribute to the Association’s strengthening and increasing value to members,” Dumaine said.

Leszak has been a full-time stamp dealer for half a century and is a 40-year member of the ASDA.

“I believe that I have a well-rounded passion and understanding of stamp dealing from a diverse perspective that encompasses mail order, auctions, internet sales, shows and a brick-and-mortar location,” Leszak said.

Ballots must be received by ASDA executive director Dana Guyer no later than June 30.
