By Linn’s Staff
The American Topical Association offers free virtual programs as part of a Warm Up to Topicals series during the first quarter of 2024, ATA executive director Jennifer Miller said in a Dec. 26, 2023, press release.
The programs will be conducted through the online meeting platform Zoom and cover such topics as the Boston 2026 World Expo, the history of anti-Jewish behavior in America, and using social media to enhance the collecting experience.
All seven programs will air live at 7 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: Jan. 16, Jan. 23, Jan. 30, Feb. 6, Feb. 20, March 19 and March 26. The programs will be recorded.
The January presentations, in order of appearance, are “How Picture Postcards Saved the U.S. Postal Department” with Dawn Hamman, “Energize Your Stamp Club, Part II” with Todd Gantzer and Michele Bresso, and “Touring from the Dalmatian Coast to Budapest via the Stamps of Eastern Europe” with Alan and Diane Bauer.
In February, Yamil Kouri will present “Boston 2026 World Expo Highlights,” and Gregg Philipson will present “Discrimination Never Takes a Vacation.”
The March presentations include “Enhance Your Hobby Experience with Social Media” with Jeff Hayward, and “Meet the Todidae Family from the Greater Antilles” with Felix L. Perez-Folch Jr.
Attendance requires online registration on the Warm Up to Topicals webpage. Registration is free for both ATA members and the general public. All times given are in the Eastern time zone.
