Organizers of the Boston 2026 World Expo seek donations of off-paper stamps for use during the international philatelic exhibition, Thomas Fortunato, public relations chair for Boston 2026, said in a Jan. 2 press release.

Boston 2026 chief financial officer Michael Lawson is coordinating the donation collection process along with the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History. The stamps will be used in welcome packets and in the youth and beginner’s areas.

“World Stamp Show-NY 2016 collected roughly three million stamps for free giveaways in a variety of ways,” Lawson said. “We are again counting on the philatelic community to show their generosity and desire to promote the hobby by donating common, unwanted duplicates we all have an abundance of to our show.”

Lawson will accept donations of both mint and used off-paper stamps of any quantity. Stamp clubs are especially encouraged to participate, Lawson said, and dealer stock with hundreds of the same stamp can be sent. Lawson asks that United States stamps be sorted from stamps of other countries, if possible.

Stamps can be mailed to the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History, Attn: Michael Lawson/Boston 2026, Regis College, 241 Wellesley Street Weston, MA 02493. To receive confirmation of receipt, include a note with an email address with the stamps.

Boston 2026 World Stamp Show, Inc. has received 501(c)(3) recognition from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, allowing contributions to be tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Boston 2026 World Expo will take place May 23-30, 2026, at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center. Show details and instructions to sign up for email updates can be found at the expo’s website and via the expo’s Facebook, X and Instagram pages.
