Literature submissions open for 2025 Sarasota show
By Linn’s Staff
The Sarasota National Stamp Exhibition invites submissions to its seventh annual articles-only literature exhibition at the annual stamp show and exhibition scheduled for Jan. 17-19, 2025, at the Municipal Auditorium, 801 N. Tamiami Trail, in Sarasota, Fla.
A complete prospectus and entry form are available from the Sarasota Philatelic Club. Journal editors and authors are encouraged to submit articles of fewer than 8,000 words no later than Dec. 1. Authors wishing to participate are advised to send entries in quickly since space is limited.
Entrants are encouraged to consult the Manual for Literature Exhibiting & Judging posted on the American Philatelic Society website.
The Sarasota National Stamp Exhibition is one of three opportunities for literature exhibits, with the other two being Chicagopex and Great American Stamp Show.
The articles-only format of the exhibition has been likened to one-frame philatelic exhibits and is intended to recognize the hundreds of authors of philatelic journal articles who each year contribute to the hobby with new information for collectors, exhibitors and researchers.
The 2025 jury will include Akthem Al-Manaseer (chief judge), John Hotchner and Patrick Walters.
All submissions are to be electronic in PDF format and when accepted will be posted on the show’s website, making them immediately available to all. The Sarasota National Stamp Exhibition articles-only literature exhibition is co-sponsored by Writers Unit 30, the society of philatelic authors and editors.
