First lady Melania Trump is scheduled to unveil a United States forever commemorative stamp honoring former first lady Barbara Bush (1925-2018) on May 8 at the White House.

Bush was the wife of George H.W. Bush (1924-2018), who served as president of the United States from 1989 to 1993.

News of the previously unannounced addition to the U.S. Postal Service’s 2025 stamp program was reported by Judy Kurtz, a reporter for The Hill, on May 6.

“The event in the East Room is poised to include Doro Bush Koch, the daughter of the former first couple, along with other friends and family members, acting Postmaster General Doug Tulino and George and Barbara Bush Foundation chief executive officer Alice Yates,” Kurtz said.

Postal Service spokesman Jim McKean told Linn’s Stamp News that additional information about the forthcoming Barbara Bush stamp was not available.
