Philatelic Foreword by Jay Bigalke

In the pages of Linn’s, we continue to publish information about the Boston 2026 World Expo and the frequency of news items about the show will increase as the event draws closer.

The Boston 2026 World Expo, the 12th international philatelic exhibition to be held in the United States, is planned for May 23-30, 2026, at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center in Boston, Mass.

According to the show website, the opportunity to make hotel reservations will start in March. The impetus for this article is a call to action for collectors to add those dates to their calendars and start making plans now.

I know personally that I am starting to think about transportation and lodging logistics. I’ve even started to budget some extra spending money for purchasing items at the show.

In my experience, having a game plan for the show is very important. After attending the Washington 2006 and New York 2016 international shows, I can attest to that.

And for those who collect the postal history of stamp exhibitions, there are a few items already available. The Boston 2026 show is publishing a bulletin, shown nearby. The bulletin’s second issue was mailed in January and has a beautiful postage franking of $1.57 to pay the 3.5-ounce or less letter rate.

Additionally, cinderella labels for the exhibition can be purchased from the show website. I have already seen the labels on mail from stamp collectors that has arrived in the office.
