Postcrossing meetup June 7 at Napex stamp show

Philatelic Foreword by Jay Bigalke
Postcrossing meetups at World Series of Philately stamp shows so far this year have proven to be popular, pulling in a new audience to the world of stamps.
This year the Napex stamp show is again hosting a meetup in conjunction with the Capitol-Beltway Postcard Club. It will take place on Saturday, June 7, from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Dallas Room of the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, 7920 Jones Branch Drive, McLean, Va. The show will be held June 6-8.
A meetup is an informal gathering of postcard-writing enthusiasts who use the Postcrossing.com website. Socializing and signing postcards are the basics of the event.
According to the Postcrossing.com website, “The goal of this project is to allow anyone to send and receive postcards from all over the world!”
After setting up an account, you can send postcards to random individuals around the world, and in exchange, you will receive postcards from different random people. The website provides further details about how this postcard exchange works.
Linn’s Stamp News has produced and sent to the postcard club organizers the postcard design shown nearby for the meetup. It will not be available from Linn’s directly.
Show organizers are requesting registration for the event online. There is a checkbox item for the meetup at the end of the show registration form.
Additional information on the meetup is on the Postcrossing forum.
