Chocolate-scented stamps highlight Myrtle Beach show: Morning Report
Linn's Stamp News gives you a quick look at what's going on in the world of stamp-collecting:
1. What smells good?
The Myrtle Beach Stamp & Postcard Show will have a distinct flavor this weekend—chocolatey.
MyrtleBeachOnline.com published a Feb. 5 report about the Feb. 7-8 show, the theme of which is "250 Years—Chocolate in the USA." Stamps printed on chocolate-scented paper will be on display.
"Donn Ebert of Conway, longtime [Myrtle Beach Stamp Club] president, said many people have asked him about chocolate’s connections to stamps," the MyrtleBeachOnline.com report reads. "He said various foreign countries, such as Belgium, Liberia and Switzerland, have issued stamps on chocolate-scented paper. Although the sweet aromas with those stamps fade with time, people’s fancy with the treats never has, and developing a 2015 show theme met the stamp club’s taste."
