Hot Rods forever stamps will show ‘USA’ on license plates
The United States Hot Rods forever stamps, to be issued June 6 in York, Pa.
The designs of the two Hot Rods forever stamps to be issued June 6 were revealed in mid-April by the United States Postal Service through its USA Philatelic catalog.
The stamps illustrate two different styles of 1932 Ford “Deuce” roadsters shown from different angles. The country name “USA” is shown on the license plate of each car.
“ … these stamps recognize the nearly century-old tradition of hot rods — fast, flashy, and powerful rides modified for racing and showcasing,” notes the USPS description of the stamps.
The Hot Rods stamps will be a horizontal definitive size and issued in double-sided panes of 20 (convertible booklet format).
The official first-day ceremony for the Hot Rods forever stamps will take place June 6 during the National Street Rod Association’s “Street Rod Nationals East Plus,” June 6-8 at the York Expo Center in York, Pa.
The ceremony time and location were not made available by the Postal Service.
