APWU joins 'Grand Alliance to Save Our Public Postal Service': Morning Report

1. Save the USPS
The American Postal Workers Union was part of a coalition of organizations that announced Thursday its intention to stave off U.S. Postal Service cuts and mail privatization, according to the Washington Post.
"The coalition of 63 religious coalitions, retiree organizations, educational and postal unions, lawmakers and progressive advocacy groups is calling itself 'A Grand Alliance to Save Our Public Postal Service,'" the Post report reads.
2. Groundbreaking exhibition open
The National Postal Museum's new exhibition devoted to African American history opened Thursday.
"The exhibition includes everything from stamped letters and covers carried by slaves to slave dealers, to mail from the Reconstruction-era Pennsylvania donning KKK-themed cancels, to mail sent by and stamps featuring important figures in black history."
The exhibition runs through Sunday.
