The United States Postal Service kicked of its 2025 stamp program with a first-day-of-issue ceremony for the Year of the Snake commemorative forever stamp Jan. 14 in Boston, Mass.

The ceremony took place at the Boch Center Wang Theatre.

“Our Lunar New Year stamp series is extremely popular and we are very proud of how it highlights and celebrates America’s great diversity,” said Luke Grossmann, U.S. Postal Service chief financial officer and executive vice president, who served as the dedicating official. “As you use these vibrant stamps to mail your letters and packages, it is our wish that the Year of the Snake brings each of you good health, great joy and much prosperity.”

Participating in the ceremony were the Wah Lum Kung Fu and Tai Chi Academy performance troupe who performed traditional lion and dragon dances.

Speakers at the ceremony included Tiffany Chu, chief of staff for the office of Boston Mayor Michelle Wu; Terri Mock, board of directors for the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center; Isabel Kim, chief financial officer for the Asian American Foundation; and singer Juliet Brownell-Lee.
